Best New Tracks: Sticky K - Persian Algebra
Sticky K delivers us the first real dancefloor banger to turn our heads this 2012. "Persian Algebra" invites us into the mystical world of moombahton, "a sub-genre of electronic dance music that was created by American DJ and producer Dave Nada at a high school homecoming 'skipping party' for his younger cousin in Washington, D.C., in the fall of 2009," apparently (shout out to our bro, Wikipedia). Basically, we think it means EDM music, paced at around 108 BPM, and featuring a tonne of reggaeton drum beats...
"Persian Algebra" name-checks all these moombahtonian elements and more, with its twisting synths and jagged vocal chants working us into a sweat-drenched rave-up. Enjoy/download below.

Sticky K is currently signed to Dave Taylor aka Switch's Dubsided Records -- a label which prides itself on "releasing off-kilter, bumpy house." Sticks' has already dropped 2 EPs via Dubsided and is now prepping some big material for 2012 so, EDM fans (or, erm, moombahton fans to be specific) keep your eyes and ears peeled for this one.
