THE BEST NEW INDIE POP TO LISTEN TO WHILE WAITING IN LINE FOR YOUR MORNING COFFEE

Hello again! It’s 11:44 a.m. in Boston, MA. I’m looking at my Dunkin’ Caramel Coffee Coolatta that I ordered about an hour ago and wished that I had a playlist of the best new indie-pop songs out this week to keep me entertained while I waited in line for an hour. We all have been in this situation waiting for our morning coffee so I thought it would be a good idea for me to provide this for you!

LOLA BLANC - “HERE COME THE WOLVES”

Lola Blanc creates an anthemic power-driven sound with her new single, “Here Come the Wolves.” Indie pop just got even more syncable with the halloween-esque nature of this song that will send chills down your spine. Once the beat kicks in you’ll be headbanging to this eerie tune. It’s perfect for keeping you on your toes while waiting for your (Halloween) Pumpkin-Spiced Latte.

REMY, JUTES - “YOU AND ME TOGETHER IS A PROBLEM”

Remy is an artist from New York and there are so many coffee shops in New York. The infectious chorus melody of “You and Me Together is a Problem” will have you rocking out in line and you may even build up the confidence to ask a few of the sullen faces to dance with you to put a smile on their faces.

THE MARIAS, STILL WOOZY - “HUSH - STILL WOOZY REMIX”

The Marias and Still Woozy is a collaboration that makes so much sense, but never did I ever think it would ever happen. This remix is the best new indie pop song to give you the chillest/grooviest time in line. You’ll swoon after hearing The Maria’s lead singer, María Zardoya, captivating harmonies/backing vocals and Still Woozy’s gravely but complementing voice. The production is everything you’d expect if you’re a returning fan but it will never let you down

MICHELLE - “SYNCOPATE”

MICHELLE is an indie pop outfit from Brooklyn, New York that are truly paving the way for a new sound. Their throwback aesthetic aligned with a pristine, modern sound complements and shapes the music most young people listen to today (if you have good taste). Like waiting in line (even for a subpar cup of coffee), MICHELLE and their new song, “SYNCOPATE” will make the wait worth it in the end.

KEEPER E. - “FOURTEEN”

Keeper E. is the brainchild of Adelle Elwood. She’s a Nova Scotia native that brings a new twist to indie-pop with her classical background. Behind the modern production, Keeper E.’s arrangement in “Fourteen” showcases the crossroads between a classically trained artist discovering a new way of presenting indie-pop. The songwriting is also mature and captivating that will send you down memory lane while waiting in line for your coffee.

BINKI - “INVISIBLE FENCE”

Binki is a name that I’ve been seeing around a lot recently. I discovered his song, “Heybb!” a while back, and it has now amassed over 10 million streams on Spotify. With only 6 songs released, Binki is creating an incredible new avenue for indie pop that breaks barriers and what it means to be an indie pop artist. “Invisible Fence” is the perfect song for when you finally get to the end of the line and are able to hold your morning coffee!

DIJON - “MANY TIMES”

“Many Times” is a beautiful exploration into the mind of Dijon and his extraordinary ability to come together with likeminds to create a unique and powerful song. The driving force behind the drums and Dijon’s rhythmically accented vocal cadence is inspiring. It will give you hope that the line will move quickly so your coffee will be in your hands before you know it.
