Seems like this pandemic has everyone feeling somewhat rather blue. But hey, these emotions make for freaking fresh songs. Glass Animals can no longer stand the heatwave and is losing his shit in an artistic and loving way. ELLIE GOULDING - SLOW GRENADE FEAT. LAUV

Ellie Goulding sounds like a vision, but when has she not? Ammma riiight? Between her vocals and those of Lauv ooooof! “Slow Grenade” is fire and an experience in itself. Beautiful production that will be better appreciated with a good pair of headphones.

DOMINIC FICKE - CHICKEN TENDERS

Dominic had me at chicken tenders! Who knew that food sounded so sexy and fun! Thanks to Dominic Ficke we can all add chicken tenders to our summer bucket list because if you haven’t had meat all over your bed then you haven’t lived life at all.

CHARLI XCX - ENEMY

Charli XCX is QUEEN. Only she can take us back to nostalgia road and to a time where things felt somewhat more normal. It might be the soothing synths in the background or the narrating if where it hurts. In “Enemy” there is a sense of comfort that is quite disturbing since she is walking about a possible enemy. Wait … what?

TY DOLLA $IGN - EGO DEATH (KANYE WEST, FKA TWIGS & SKRILLEX)

There’s too much going on in “Ego Death.” I think it’s best left to be left to your own interpretation. I’m curious to know your thoughts. Please do share … I need some human connection.

I wasn’t going to post The 1975 but it’s kind of like a mandatory thing ya know. So here’s The 1975 spreading some love and tenderness, reminding us that they are there for us and that this darkness shall one day pass. In fact, play “Don’t Worry” and you’ll see the clouds part, and rays of sunshine will brush your face, and little blue birds will come to your window and sign you a song.
