We know you spend hours a day on the Instagram scroll (honestly who doesn’t, its 2018), so we really appreciate that you are taking a break from IG to check out our weekly post about IG. Nothing better than pausing the gram to check out the insta. Instagram is a current-as-hell movement and if you’re not up to date with all the on-going going-ons then you are the one who quickly will become old news. We don’t want that, so we’ll regale you with our eight favorite picks of the week to keep you up to date on anything you might have missed. There was a photo of two of the Beatles’ sons hanging out that we left off because IG is the future, not the past-- come on.
BLACKALICIOUS ARE BROADWAY READY
Blackalicious dropped this YouTube piano cover of “Alphabet Aerobics” from @StevenSeller on their Insta, and it’s just about the best thing you’ll see all week. I mean, the best thing if you like musical theatre esque performance and Blackalicious. WHICH WHO DOESNT!? Someone put this dude in a charge of a jukebox musical of Gift of Gab’s rhymes, stat.
AMINE BUYS MOMMY A CAR
No! That’s a tear in your eye!! Isn’t this what we’re all working towards? Just enough success to be able to buy our mother’s a new whip and have her come out crying and hug us like ‘you really made it baby! You really made it!’ No? Just me and Anime? That’s cool too.

LOL, Trippie Redd owning up (sort of) to buying copies of his own album to make sure it doesn’t flop with a pitch-perfect Spongebob meme. He’s got the money, why the hell not? Just send each of your homies a ten dollar iTunes giftcard and say “buy it bitch.” Patrick Starr looking exactly like Redd only helps the fact that the “Life’s A Trip” the album cover would fit in perfectly down in Bikini Bottom.
CARDI B’S SELENA MOMENT
Cardi B taking a moment out from being a new Mom to holler at the legend Selena. While she can’t hit the notes quite as well as Selena could, who even can? That’s like asking Mariah Carey to show her r-e-s-p-e-c-t by covering Aretha Franklin. RIP. Can Cardi be the Selena to a new generation of women? I mean, she’s sure probably hoping she can.
NAS IS HAVING A WINE WEDNESDAY
Nas getting drunk with some red wine on a Wednesday. I feel you dude, I was legitimately doing the exact same thing except my bottle cost $5.99. How much moolah do you think Nas spent on vino that eveningo? Enough to post on Instagram about it? My money’s on at least $139 and that’s a lowball baby. Famous people have too much money!
RICH BRIAN ON SOME DRAKE PIANO ISH
I mean the main thing we’re learning about Rich Bryan is that he plays piano in front of a Corgi Painting. Like its his sheet music, but for inspiration. “Honestly I can’t play without looking at my Corguroy.” Bryan takes Drake down a peg, piling on while the whole world seems to be hating on him. It’s fun to hate Drake! We get it!

Nicki Minaj and Alicia Keys are here goofing off on Insta, trying to send a video to their fans when they’re disrupted, and then send it off anyways! Alicia showed up to #QueensRadio to show a little love for Aretha Franklin (RIP) with a tribue/cover of “Natural Woman” for Nicki’s Beats 1 Show. We wish there was video of that, but these queens together will have to do for now.
