When it comes to the best New Music For 2012, the Irish-quartet The Funeral Suits has to be in the discussion.
Lazy writers (a group I frequently belong to) will compare them to other Irish groups, calling them a combination of U2, Frighten Rabbits, and We Were Promised Jetpacks.
And while those comparisons are far from insults or to wholly inaccurate, there's a lot more going on here than just 'Alternative Irish Group.'
In leu of me trying to tell you why this group is awesome, just let your ears be the judge. Check out their quintessential single, "All Those Friendly People," below:
The band blends several different contemporary styles into their own unique sound. And besides kickass arrangements built around distortion, the band also write great, meaningful lyrics.

Having opened for the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Passion Pit, and Local Natives, the band seems poised to soon breakout into headliners.
"Colour Fade"
Funeral Suits' debut album, Lily of the Valley, is out now. They start touring the UK on September 29th, aka this fucking Friday. Do yourself a favor and check 'em out.
