BEST CHILL OUT - WEEK 27 2014

Hey guys. Ready for your fix? Well, I’m going to give it to you and I’m going to give it to you hard. Unless you like it gentle, because that’s good for me too. Anyway, we’re here, some of us are probably queer, and it’s time to listen to the very, very best chill out music on the scene this week. You better believe our curators searched long and hard for this music, so don’t let it go to waste. Take it all in, every single bit of it. And when it’s over, you’ll be a whole new person. Or at least you hope you will.

GALLANT – MANHATTAN

What a way to kick off this chill out sess’! Not only is this track from LA artist Gallant super fine, you can download it for free on Soundcloud. I love this track. I think it’s perfect for anyone feeling lonely right now. I’m feeling a little lonely right now. Wanna cuddle? Or we can just hold hands and cry? Either way, you know this song is going to be playing in the background.

JASON BURNS & SARAH WINTERS - LIGHTWEIGHT

This track is nearby perfect. Sarah Winters has a voice that so pleasant on the ears, you’ll want to listen to it on an infinite loop. And this song is kind of uplifting don’t you think? Or maybe I’m just taking everything to literal again. Anyway, I definitely understand what putting your wet mouth on mine means. Yum! You can download this track for free right here.

PHORIA – EMANATE (CAVEMAN GENIUS REMIX)

This track is so atmospheric and compartmentalized in the beginning that it gets pretty f**king creepy there for a bit. But hold your horses because it’s about to get really, really good. Wait until all those elements start coming together. It’s downright beautiful! This is the kind of sh*t they play at fancy art openings and launches for media people. But it’s really good for chilling out too!

MOON FLASK – SASHU

For someone with only 140 fans on Soundcloud, these three guys from Australia are making some incredible music. I mean, these guys are so good they induce complete stupidity in an attempt to flirt from most listeners. Case in point, this comment: “Mm this track so good yah moon flask more like moon fl-ask me out if you know what i mean.” Whoever wrote is totally digging this vibe, and so am I.

BOOKA SHADE FT. FRITZ HELDER – LOVE DRUG (MAYA JANE COLES REMIX)

Now Maya Jane Coles has been featured on this list quite a bit, and when you listen to this track you’ll see why. I think Love Drug is a good title as I felt like I had taken a “love drug” when listening to it and by that I mean a roofie. But not in a bad way. In the best way possible. Oh no. Have I gone too far? I’ll stop now. Listening to this song for the rest of the day.

YOUNG MAGIC – FALL IN (TEEBS’ HAZY REMIX)

You could totally rock interpretive dance to this chill out track. Not matter what you do, you should probably do something weird when you’re listening to this. Right now my arms are in the air and I’m swaying them side to side like only a white girl from the suburbs can. But you can probably come up with something better than that, right? Namaste.

KWAMIE LIV – 5AM

Oh my god! Don’t even joke with that voice. Did I hear someone say Lana Del Ray? Oh, that was me. This is what I wanted Lana’s new stuff to sound like. Thank god for Denmark and Kwamie Liv. She has two more songs on Soundcloud. Go listen to them! Right now. And take this chill out journey to a journey of discovery too.

SATCHMODE – DRIFT

Now Drift from Satchmode is a bit upbeat and kind of gives you a buzz too, but if you really want to listen to something cool, you’ve gotta listen to their latest tracks. All of them. Take the morning, afternoon or evening off. F**k it, take the whole day off. It’s worth it! Especially that Bon Iver remix.

ARTHUR BEATRICE – LATE (MEDLAR REMIX)

This is Medlar remixing Arthur Beatrice. It’s pretty extraordinary! I’m going to shut up now and let you listen to it because it’s pretty self-explanatorily excellent. 

MOODPAINT X YELLOWSTRAPS – LANDSCAPES (AMBASSADEURS REMIX)

This is what’s coming out of Belgium in 2014. Pretty spectacular. I love that accent. I want to bathe in it. I feel like I am already. It’s so smooth. This entire remix is just soothing and sweet and full of amazing collaborations from fresh talent. Put this on your daily listening list for the next few weeks. You’ll be a better person, I swear it.
