Best Music Videos: Neon Neon "Hammer & Sickle"

Neon Neon (Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals and producer Boom Bip) is not your typical indie band. For starters, the 80's inspired duo writes concept albums based on obscure publishers/political activists; and they enlist the help of playwright Tim Price, director Wils Wilson and National Theatre Wales to create one-of-a-kind live performances.

Subsequently, the official video for Neon Neon's new single, "Hammer & Sickle," is not your typical best music videos. Directed by Rob Schroeder (who also directed the band's epic 2008 vid, "I Told Her On Alderaan"), "Hammer & Sickle" is littered with Communists imagery, historical dictators, erotic banquets, and a whole lot more. All in all, it's a wholly transfixing affair.
