Best New Tracks: Tobacco "Lipstick Destroyer"
Thomas Fec's main band has what is perhaps the most easily Google-able name ever, Black Moth Super Rainbow; his side project, Tobacco, is on the opposite end of the SEO-spectrum. Fec put on his electronic pants and robo-voice for the first time since 2010 for the Volcom Vinyl Club's Record Store Day release with Black Bananas, to crank out today's best new track, "Lipstick Destroyer."
"Lipstick Destroyer" is essentially a grungy, distorted take on Daft Punk's classic house-stylings. As Fec explained:
"Daft Punk is cool as shit, but it can get kind of sterile for my ears, and I guess what I'm doing these days is like a depraved, fucked-up sibling to their big city, good schoolin' sounds."
Listen to Tobacco "Lipstick Destroyer" below.
You can pick up the Tobacco/Black Bananas Split now, even though it's no longer Record Store Day.
