Best Electro of the Week! (Week 49) 2012
For this week's top dance songs, we’ve filtered out a lot of totally lame, unfun, nonbanging, unworthy music for you this week, including, but not limited to more iffy remixes of Boys Noize, a shoddy remix of the Rolling Stones by Benny Benassi, cliche’ big room by R3hab. (Sorry man). It wasn’t easy, but that’s what we do here at BitCandy. So here's to another week of dance music, brought to you by Glitch and Uncle Flex.
Dog Blood - Next Order [OFFICIAL VIDEO]
From OWLSA and Boys Noize
Dog Blood is the power combo of Boys Noize and Skrillex. This video shows what happens if you listen to them too much.
Above & Beyond feat. Zoë Johnston - Alchemy (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)
One of those emotional prog videos.
Gemini - Forever
Loving this trance meets EDM banger from the Gemini project. Ahh...could it be that quality trance is making a comeback. Check out also their track "3D Romeo" which is more of a vocal song and cowritten by Nicole Morier (aka Coco Morier).
The Bloody Beetroots featuring Greta Svabo Beck - Chronicles of a Fallen Love
One of the best EDM tracks that actually is a real viable song that we've come across this week. Irving Berlin would be very proud of you Beetroot lads.
Proxy - Raw (South Central Remix)
The original had some grit. This remix puts that to shame. In a way we’ve come to expect from South Central, this one comes out the the gate using a dissonant harmonic minor scale to set the tone before dropping the bass.
Russ Chimes - Turn Me Out (Annie Mac Special Delivery - BBC Radio 1 Rip)
Far Too Loud - Guest mix for Diskonnected Nov 2012
Steve Aoki - It's The End Of The World As We Know It EP Teaser Mix
If this is the end of the world then I can deal with it. Check out Steve Aoki’s new EP on youtube, though I will say we’re disappointed with the lack of respect paid to REM... Have a favorite of the three teasers? Let us know.
A-Trak - Landline feat. GTA
Here’s a new one from A-Trak that changes styles quite a lot. Rather than the club/house sounds we’re used to, it’s more in the style of bass, maybe with moomba, maybe some trap? I dunno know how to describe it really, but it is cool. It’s being released as part of the new Tuna Melt EP, including the title track “Tuna Melt” with Tommy Trash.
City Calm Down - Sense of Self
Somewhere between indie dance and electronic, this tune brings a lot to the table. A four person band hailing from Australia, City Calm Down brings a solid bass, great synth pads and great vocals in this single from their new EP. If you like Van She, you’ll like this one for sure.
Surkin - Fan Out
This one is not new but it still holds up.
