Time to get pumped to The Prodigy's “Firestarter” - the KING of oldschool jungle!
This brutal classic dropped in 1996 and is lifted from The Prodigy's third album, The Fat of the Land. It was the band's first major hit, peaking at #1 in their native UK and #30 in the US.
This was the first song by The Prodigy to feature Keith Flint on vocals (and what a way to make an entrance!). The wah-wah guitar riff is sampled from The Breeders' track "S.O.S.” We also TOTEZ just realised the “hey, hey, hey” vocal sample is lifted from Art of Noise's "Close To The Edit.”

The iconic video was filmed in an abandoned London Underground tunnel. At the time, a bunch of wussies and pussies (to quote Bob Dylan) complained it was too scary for kids, so it was banned from being broadcast until after 9pm! Dafuk!?
