TOP NEW INDIE POP: LIYV - LIKE YOU MEAN IT
Liyv doesn't just have a strange name that I don't know how to pronounce quite yet, but she does have a new track called "Like You Mean It." We Are: The Guard promises that this one is something that you have never heard before, probably because it is brand new.
LIYV - LIKE YOU MEAN IT
Portland songstress Liyv describes herself as “That Weird Girl in High School Who Was Too Into Music.” Her newest song entitled "Like You Mean It" is anything but typical. Though I am not quite sure what exactly is Pastel Pop, she might be the originator of this very interesting genre. The song follows the patterns of most pop modern pop music, but supplemental vocals really add weirdness to the overall scheme of things. Partially bubblegum pop with a little bit experimental essence, "Like You Mean It" also maintains a feeling of comedy.
Perhaps the point of Pastel Pop coincides with what her mission is: “I make songs for sad people who like bright colors.” Silly? Yes. But like a cheesy punchline, it seems to invoke a smile just based on its presence alone. "Like You Mean It" lives up to the price of admission.
