NEW INDIE POP FOR HARVEST SEASON

This is the part of the year I like to refer to as the “harvest” part. Something about that word just conveys all the cozy, long-drives, hot apple cider feelings that come with November. It’s also important to remember Taylor Swift released “All Too Well” a year ago this month, which just adds to my feelings of growth and warm tones. Thanksgiving is on its way, so here’s some new indie pop that gives that same warm, familial feeling.

ASHE, STEPHEN SANCHEZ  - “MISSING YOU”

A match made in HEAVEN. I love Stephen and Ashe so much and was ecstatic to see they made a song together! It is the sweetest, warmest love song made with acoustic guitar and happiness.

ALY & AJ - “WITH LOVE FROM”

I hold the strong belief that Aly & AJ are some of our best, resident cool-girls these days. Their matching blazers and chic looks are inspiring. The cover of “With Love From” conveys the exact classic-cool look I love about them. The song has some laid-back, cool electric guitar and vocals, and will echo wonderfully through your earphones.

ETHAN SURMAN - “LOWKEY IN LOVE”

Ethan Surman is a current student at Berklee College of Music making feel-good indie pop. This groovy love song is happy and for some reason gives me the slightest feeling of Christmas. I know many will disagree with me on this but - tis the season. Hey, it's the holidays! I can have Christmas when I want to.

BLEU, KONG. - “THE WAY I MOVE YA”

Our newest label signing, KONG. has a voice that feels both familiar and exciting. “The Way I Move Ya” is a fun, upbeat dance track that shows what he and WATG favorite Bleu do best. If you wanna dance a little while cooking your new favorite fall comfort food - this is the track.

MARGOT LIOTTA - “PARTY DRESS”

Margot Liotta’s voice is beautifully silky and feels wise. Her new EP No Fun At Parties has a unique floatiness to it, and Margot will take you on a journey packed full of imagery and vulnerability. You do NOT wanna miss this out on this new indie pop queen!

GOTH BABE - “I’M IN LUV”

There is something homey about the sound of Goth Babe. While being mostly electronic, the music blends so naturally and the melodies change flawlessly. Goth Babe’s voice also feels familiar - in an old friend sort of way.

GRYFFIN, MATT MAESON - “LOSE YOUR LOVE”

“Lose Your Love” has an infectious beat that’s so fun, contrasting to heartbreaking lyrics. It’s so engaging and keeps you on the edge of your seat. If you’re interested in dancing through the heartache this November, this is the track for you.

JOJI - “DIE FOR YOU”

“Die For You” is hauntingly beautiful. The sadness can be heard in every word of Joji’s vocals. Wishing someone the best who has hurt you is never easy, but Joji does it elegantly.

HEMLOCKE SPRINGS - “GIRLFRIEND”

Hemlocke Springs has one of the most unique sounds I’ve heard in a long time. “Girlfriend” both fits into the chill punk rock sound happening right now, but adds surprising rhythmic twists and interesting vocal choices to make something that sounds entirely new.

This is time for finding new recipes and new music. Make that fresh batch of tomato soup while we handle the tunes - the best new indie pop for your playlist this November is right here and it’s never been more fun.

Online Music Marketing Course – Get Your Music Heard

Mary Ruth is a Nebraska-native currently studying Songwriting and Music Business at Berklee College of Music. Right now, she’s probably reading about the Beatles, creating her new aesthetic (with a corresponding playlist, of course), or explaining what Taylor’s Version means to someone who didn’t ask.
