NEW ARTIST FIND: EYE EMMA JEDI
I know what you’re thinking “any band with jedi in its name has to be good”. Well, that’s not even the half of it. Yeah, they may have the coolest name in the history of band names, but there’s more to them than that. Stop being so shallow! These Norwegian indie gods have been doing their thing for a while now but recently spent 100 days in Spain creating their debut album, ’88. Props to our new Brazilian curator Gui Alvim for discovering them.
EYE EMMA JEDI - '88
If you were born in ’88, then this is your instant anthem. If you were born in any other year, this track is a whole lot of fun to dance to anyway. Can you feel that Portugal The Man vibe? Personally, I don’t know why ’88 was such a great year, but from the sounds of it, it’s a place that I’d like to go.
I don’t think the world will ever have enough bands like this. Bands that are excited about stuff. Bands that love what they’re doing. Bands that work hard and know what YOU want to listen to. Bands that aren’t shy to be called hipsters copycats, because they know they aren’t, and every music blogger out there who gives these dudes a negative review can suck a dick. No, they can suck 5 dicks! And my imaginary one too.
I love emerging artists that give before they take, so stream EYE EMMA JEDI ‘s EP teaser for free on their Soundcloud right now. I SAID RIGHT NOW!
EYE EMMA JEDI – SIN
This video is so good, it made it onto our best music videos. These newcomers have taken the indie blog scene by storm with this track and I’m betting there’s a whole lot more of these breezy, summery, energetic tracks to come. I don’t know what the weather's like on your side of the world, but spilt this track on and I’m pretty certain the sun will come out. F**k Annie, EYE EMMA JEDI do it better!

Bianca Fernandes has an unfounded love for Taylor Swift and an unexplainable, burning hatred for Bob Dylan. In her opinion, that's the perfect combination to be a music reviewer. And she doesn't give an F about what you have to say about it. She writes for one person, and that's herself. Think grumpy cat with a weakness for music and watching Miley Cyrus twerk. But she does other things simply for cash, like social media, web content creation and some crazy blogging when necessary.
