TOP DANCE SONGS - WEEK 19
What’s up, players? Feeling like an A+ kinda week. Why, you ask? Well me and my ravefam, my festie squad are leveling up this week. We’re throwing our own festival out in the desert. Just good people, sick vibes and awesome music for three whole days. Oh, you jealous? You should come. It’s called Good Vibe Getdown and I can almost guarantee that none of these songs will be played there.
These hot trizzacks from DFrance, AxIn, Xi-Alai and Brasstrizzacks should get you pizzumped. Gotta love it.
DILLON FRANCIS & NGHTMRE - NEED YOU
Dillon Francis’ return to Moombahton sounds pretty good. Good party Dillon with all the right vocal ideas, fun weird bass and rockin' sound. Is it just me or does this feel too little too late? Like this is what we’ve been waiting for for new music from Dillon? Not really. Fresh would have been nice. Not a retread of his same shit from 2013. Maybe stick to your day job of snapchat, Dillon, you seem to be doing real well over there. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT, SECOND OPINION FUCK ME. This track is awesome.
BAD ROYALE - THE ROYALE ANTHEM (FEAT. RICHIE LOOP)
Well at least Diplo has Mad Decent to release songs that belong in Jack U sets. This isn’t for me, but neither is Jack U. And Look, Jack U is getting bigger and bigger by the month, so what do I know? I’m just some jaded raver that likes desert parties with his friends. After going to Burning Man the past couple of years, maybe me and Diplo have more in common than I care to admit.
AXWELL ^ INGROSSO - DREAM BIGGER
I remember when Axwell ^ Ingrosso opened up their EDC Las Vegas set with this track and my friends and I were like, “woah.” Surprised by the kings of Progressive House making something as funky electro huge as this. But now almost two years later, the song finally gets released and it has misguided vocals on top and you have to wonder if Steve Angello was really the one making the good decisions the whole time in Swedish House Maf.
MR. CARMACK - PAY FOR WHAT (ALEXANDER LEWIS TROMBONE FLIP)
Yo, I’m a SUCKER for horns on trap music. I think TNGHT became the massive stalwarts of the scene by their use of massive rave horns over trap beats. But trombone is my favorite horn. Maybe it has something to do with my ska heydays, skanking to Mighty Mighty Bostones, but the sound is just so epic. Plus, a flip of a Carmack song is pretty much a flip of the best there is. Alexander Lewis got the skills, that’s for sure.
XILENT - NEXT TIME
Bass Genre at its most comprehensive. A little bit of Dubstep, a whole hell of a lot of Glitch. Pretty vocal hooks. Can you really ask for me? Sure, but then you’d be an ungrateful little brat you just be happy with what you get.
AUDIEN FT. LADY ANTEBELLUM - SOMETHING BETTER (TWO FRIENDS REMIX)
I’m going to be honest, I’m just grateful to know there's an Audien / Lady Antebellum collaboration. There is no circle of hell I travel in that would have alerted this to me if it wasn’t for this this Two Friends garage-soul-inspired remix. Nice drums.
BRASSTRACKS - GOOD LOVE (FEAT. JAY PRINCE)
Speaking of horns. Jesus Christ. Brass Tracks are fast becoming some of my favorite producers. This chill out funk hiphop jam is pretty much everything music should be. A+
STAR SLINGER - O SUPERMANE (ROUGH)
This is a beautiful bliss out beat. I don’t know if Star Slinger intended to drop this track on Mothers Day, but I don’t really understand how he couldn’t have noticed the coincidence between his lyrics and the date of which it was released. But like, it’s so much more than that, ain’t it?
NICK OLIVETTI I- SAX O SEX
THIS AINT BRISTOL is for sure the hottest label out right now. Every track off their two compilations is absolute house & bass fire. These releases are putting Dirtybird to shame (even though they're poaching their artists left and right). The is the funkiest, weirdest house line I’ve heard in a long time and I want hear it out (not just in my headphones). I think he’s sampling dogs barking and cats meowing, but maybe I’m dreaming.
KRAFTY KUTS FEAT. TIME DELUXE - BASS PHENOMENON (LO IQ? REMIX)
If Pasquale Rosella is starting up a new arm of Insomniac that is Breakbeat based, you know that these dudes are onto something. Krafty Kuts is one of the bosses of the sound, but Lo IQ? cuts and splices this one into a uinsta-jam. Funky heavy bass wobble. PARTY is over here.

About Kurt Kroeber
From deep within the murky depths of the Los Angeles River emerged a creature: 50% raver, 50% comedian, 10% Robotcop. Kurt Kroeber doesn’t own a dog, operates Soundbleed (the world’s only dance party comedy talk show rave), and is down to party with you. Come up some time and say “Hey dude!” But definitely make sure to casually drop the secret Illuminati password.
