BEST VIDEOS OF THE WEEK - WEEK 40
Whether you’re on your break at work, chilling at home in your pajamas, or waiting to go out for the night, there’s no better way to pass the time than checking out some of the coolest music videos of the week. We Are: The Guard has narrowed down the options for you by choosing our top choices. Put your headphones in, lounge back, and check out the best videos of the week below!
WATCH BY BILLIE EILISH
Billie Eilish’s music video for “Watch,” couldn’t be more fitting. In her recent single, she sings about the aftermath of a bad relationship and all the pain it causes. In the official video, she’s seen being tied up and set on fire. Honestly? A bad relationship and an even worse breakup can feel exactly like that.
MAD HATTER BY MELANIE MARTINEZ
Drenched in pink, Melanie Martinez’s official video for “Mad Hatter” is everything you could think to imagine from the quirky dark pop artist. It’s like Alice in Wonderland, except everything is completely twisted. The video, which was written and directed by Martinez herself, is the final visual installment from her 2015 debut album Crybaby.
BAD LOVE BY RY X
Shot in Mexico, the official video for “Bad Love” couldn’t be more breathtaking. The video features cinematographic visuals in various landscapes. “Bad Love” is the first single since his 2016 debut album release Dawn, and is everything we could have wanted from the soulful Australian singer-songwriter.
PAINT IT BLACK BY THE ROLLING STONES (LIVE)
I just had to include Rolling Stones’ performing their classic 1966 hit “Paint it Black.” About 42 years later in 2008, they hit the famed Beacon Theater in New York City to give yet another legendary performance. Mick Jagger has definitely still got it.
GATE BY BJORK
Björk is as magical as it gets in her official video for “The Gate.” The single is the first from her upcoming album Utopia, which fans can expect in November. Fun fact: according to Gucci, her costume took 870 hours to make. Definitely worth it though.
UH HUH BY JULIA MICHAELS LIVE ON THE TODAY SHOW
I honestly don’t know how she’s capable of producing the sounds she makes in the chorus, but it’s so freaking cool and catchy. Julia Michaels has so much attitude in this live performance, and you just got to love her for it.
DOG DANCES TO RAP MUSIC
If I were to go clubbing, this is this who’d I’d want to go dancing with. I mean, look at this pup. I bet he’d own the dance floor, since he’s already owning that living room. That rhythm is impeccable. He definitely has all the moves!
