In honor of nothing in particular, this week’s edition of Best of Indie from your pals at LA Music Blog BitCandy features: nothing you have ever heard of before! (Ideally. Unless you spend too much time on the internet like us.)
It’s been hot as balls in LA this week (but secretly I LOVE it) and my musical selections this week definitely reflect that. These will all sound the best being blasted from car speakers, with your convertible top down and a lover in the passenger seat. And maybe another in the backseat too, if you’re into that kind of thing. I won’t judge.

Going purely off their sound, these LA-based surf punks are probably Wavves’ best friends.
Concrete Knives - “Greyhound Racing”
These Frenchies are gaining notoriety at home for their high-energy live shows. And they are currently working on their debut album, so expect them to arrive on American shores soon!
The xx - "Angels
The big news of the week was the release of the lead single from the new The xx album...yes please!!
Love Echo - “Lovecats”
This week's cover song... A beautifully slowed down and sexed up rendition of one of my favorite Cure songs.
The Dirty Nil - “Fuckin’ Up Young”
If Rivers Cuomo was a little angrier, he would have fronted this band. These Canadians just released a free 3 song mixtape, and I highly suggest you download it.
