BEST NEW TRACK: SEINABO SEY FEAT. JACOB BANKS - REMEMBER
When it comes to legacies, some people would like to be remembered for the achievements they’ve accomplished throughout their life. Others would like to be remembered by former lovers from a spectacularly romantic viewpoint. Me? Heck, I just want my Starbucks barista to remember me well enough to start my order before I open my mouth. I am a simple creature, guys.
Coffee problems aside, this next song deals with legacy; with memory and the long-lasting effect that a person can have on another. After two years of offering music, Swedish songstress Seinabo Sey is back with a powerful and soulful performance in “Remember.” Listen below.
SEINABO SEY - REMEMBER
In “Remember,” Seinabo Sey enlists the help of equally striking vocalist Jacob Banks. Together, both singers deliver a romantic, and booming vocal performance, creating strings of promises of holding memories and the people surrounding them, close to their heart. Seinabo’s voice is enchanting while Jacob’s voice acts like a haunting echoed counterpart.
The song ends in a chant, “Remember me, Remember me under the sun.” The drums are loud, but playful; the backing vocals are purposeful but light. Seinabo and Jacob sing the song out, ensuring that it’s damn near impossible not to give the duo your full attention. Remember them, for sure.
Along with “Remember,” Seinabo Sey also released “I Owe You Nothing,” garnering a super hot premiere from The Fader. Jacob Banks, meanwhile, is getting ready for Coachella. Keep your eyes on these two!
