BEST NEW SONGS: LOW CUT HIGH TOPS “I’M COMING ONTO YOU”
Music is all about relatability. And if you can’t relate to “I’m Coming Onto You," the newest single from Low Cut High Tops, then you really need to reconsider how you’re living your life.
Seattle native David Burns sounds like Avi Buffalo meets The White Stripes. There’s a sloppy gracefulness to his approach to music that seems to mirror my approach to most things. “I’m Coming Onto You” perfectly captures that feeling of unease and unlimited possibilities that comes from, well, coming on to someone. The grunge pop veneer of this song acts as an ideal backdrop for such sentiments. Burn’s squealing vocals rise and fall over a distorted blues riff, creating the sort of primal energy that one exhibits when, well, coming on to someone.
Lastly, all instrumentation, production, and mixing have been done by Mr. Burns himself. Impressive.
LOW CUT HIGH TOPS “I’M COMING ONTO YOU”
While his output has been minimal thus far, LCHT (as someone is bound to start calling him in this century of abbreviations) is definitely one to watch. Last month he teased on Facebook that he’s got a whole album mastered, just waiting to unleash it on the world.
I for one am pretty pumped to hear it.
