BEST NEW SONGS: EMMA SAMETH - 2 AM

Los Angeles based singer-songwriter Emma Sameth instantly won us over with her chilly electro-R&B track, “2 AM.” It’s produced by DNTST and Berg, and it features a snap-filled, winding beat that keeps the track going, while her breathy-soft vocals set the track’s sensual tone. Imagine an Alessia Cara but from another breathy underground-pop universe.

With lyrics like “2 in the morning/ faded like the rain/ falling in my bed room and I’m thinking about your face,” you quickly fall into the track’s dreamy vibe. Once the chorus hits at the 1:35 mark the track truly takes off with her intoxicating vocal melody and broody yet groovy beat. The break down after the 2:10 mark is totally goose bump-inducing, especially once her raw vocals declare, “got you on my skin/ feeling wired/ lost in everything/ it’s my desire.” From there on out, the track takes you on a gorgeously hazy journey for the remainder of its duration, leaving you wanting more from the up and coming new artist.
