It’s almost like The Eden Project is trying to get 3/4 of Twitter to hate him. First the Dublin singer covers T-Swift’s latest magnum opus, “Blank Space.” And now Jonathan Ng is treading in even more sacred water, by covering Queen Bey herself.

It takes a lot of guts to do or say anything about Beyonce in this day and age. Covering one of her songs is like willingly opening yourself up to a wrath of biblical proportions from her swarm of loyal followers. It’s estimated that as much as 15% of people currently in the witness protection program are there because they said something negative about Beyonce. (Probably.)

Mr. Ng puts this song directly in his comfort zone, turing “Crazy In Love” into the ultimate #sadbanger. The Irish lass Leah Kelly adds her vocal stylings to the mix. And while they forgo the complete gender swap, with Kelly taking Jay Z’s verse (they split it), the effect is perfect for this version. 

I feel like this cover will enrage a good portion of the populace, but I don’t care. I can’t get enough of it. See if the same holds true for you.
