BEST NEW INDIE: HAERTS - YOUR LOVE

This chick has got the best voice We Are: The Guard have heard in a long ass time. She’s got kind of a Cyndi Lauper thing going on. It’s been a while since I’ve heard a voice as epic and with the same range of emotions (and self-backing vocals) as the Queen Cyndi. Of course this isn’t the 80’s, it’s the 2010’s and I’m probably just showing my age and how steeped in nostalgia I am. But AREN’T WE ALL? Isn’t everything just something else remixed into a new package with a new face and a new soul? Can’t this just be its own awesome epic song? Yes to any and all questions. 

HAERTS - YOUR LOVE

Goddamnit if the GOONIES R GOOD ENOUGH and this song would be the perfect closing credits song for a young ladies adventure film. HAERTS, your love has touched my HEART. Now I can’t wait for the all female reboot of Goonies where this song closes out the credits and you win an Oscar for Best Original Song even though it came out in 2017 and wasn’t written originally for that motion picture (or was it?). This shouldn’t stop anybody from awarding true art the accolades it deserves.

I’m getting carried away here but that’s because I haven’t heard a hook this epic in this entire decade. Thanks for the throwback bb. I know it wasn’t intentional. You’re very modern.
