Finding yourself in a new, murky relationship is like getting yourself lost inside a pink, prickly hedge maze, and I’m glad someone has finally said it.

We Are: The Guard want you to check out BLVK JVCK’s new video, whose rosy hues will have you thinking “truuuuuu.” But more importantly, just soak in the duo’s debut single: these producers have been putting in production work for years and their talents have finally culminated to a fun, sporadic track. For “Mind Games,” BLVK JVCK sought the vocals of their friend Dyo, who’s reportedly assisted them multiple times in making their bangers. Dyo’s voice flickers throughout like a neon light bulb. The composition is frenetic with its constant splicing, reminiscent of a chiptune song, or a tropical house melody gone all chopped n’ screwed. It’s dynamic, and as much eclectic as it is danceable. “Mind Games” is hard not to love. The chemistry between all three artists is clear from the energy practically pouring out of this song.

But back to the most obvious metaphor about love I’ve seen this week: the maze. I haven’t felt such sympathy for a couple since watching one argue outside The Bungalow in Santa Monica. The struggle is real out there, guys. I’m rooting for y’all.
