BEST INDIE MUSIC VIDEOS - WEEK 45 2013
Coming off you Halloween sugar high (or if you finally posted bail for thowing all that toilet paper)...then check out this week’s best new music videos because life is too short not to be weird. MGMT finally prove that Lady Gaga really is an alien and OFWGKTA continue provoking the words “what the f_ck?!” out of all our mouths. Oh yeah, and there’s even some good music packed in for you snobs who are just in it for the tunes.
MGMT - "ALIEN DAYS"
What a freaky slice of alien heaven. If only MGMT put as much creativity in their music as they do in their music videos. Tisk, tisk! I blame acid.
PHUTURE DOOM - 11/̶̵̧5
Woawly CRAP! We’ve stepped into the matrix. And it’s pumping in there! I’m pretty sure this video almost gave me a seizure. I reckon this would make a great educational video titled, “This is what your brain looks like on dubstep.”
THE NAKED AND FAMOUS - I KILL GIANTS
Some strange ritualistic interpretive dance happening in church. I'm already scared. Little touch of Sparkle Motion here ala Donnie Darko? If anyone can tell what the F is happening in this video...I'll give them $10.
OFWGKTA - THE GHOST OF THE HOTEL (THE MOVIE)T
Only OFWGKTA could come up with a concept so ridiculously lame, that it actually works. HAPPY HALLOWEEN, BITCHES!
QUEEN - WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER (LIVE AT WEMBLEY 11.07.1986)
Sometimes you just need a good ol’ queen to make the day a little brighter. I mean, Queen. This is one killer performance and 1986 sure looks epic. But those teeth! God, those teeth!
THE 1975 - GIRLS
<object width="560" height="324"><param name="movie" value="http://videoplayer.vevo.com/embed/Embedded?videoId=GBUV71301559&playlist..."></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://videoplayer.vevo.com/embed/Embedded?videoId=GBUV71301559&playlist..." type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="575" height="324" bgcolor="#000000" wmode="transparent"></embed></object>
Hey The 1975, I just heard back from Robert Palmer...from the grave. He wants his video concept back. OK so you DID do it kinda different and put the chicks in lingerie and bikinis instead of matching black sylish mini dresses with super bright red lips.
SAN FERMIN - NPR MUSIC TINY DESK CONCERT
I love seeing a bunch of talented musicians cramped into a tiny space. You can practically see their brains going, “Don’t look at the camera. DON’T LOOK AT THE CAMERA! Damn, I looked at the camera”. Anyway, this lot can swing a tune like most others can’t, so get yourself something yummy and sit back and enjoy! You’ve earned it.
SYMMETRY - THE HUNT
I think you are getting the entire history of the 80s here within 200 seconds. Brilliant video and equally great track from Symmetry. Now, I have to just figure out what subliminal messages I've been doused with.
That's what we have, my lovers, for this weeks best indie music videos...and some classics along the way.
