BEST MUSIC VIDEOS - WEEK 19 2014
Waddup, Internetz! It sure is a brilliant week for new music video and that’s no lie. Today I offer to you guys, my loyal Bitcandy following, a truly extraordinary platter of cool videos. We got Pharrell in the house! We got Brooke candy in the house! And some other amazing things you’re probably not cool enough to have heard of yet. So open your eyes, switch off whatever Coachella band you’re listening to and get ready for the magic!
PHARRELL WILLIAMS – MARILYN MONROE
Even in his silly hat, Pharrell is still a sex god. And although I’m thankful that there’s finally something to replace that piece of sh*t Happy song, what does Kelly Osbourne have to do with anything?! Go back to E! you complete and utter sell out. And as for the music video, what can I say?! Girls are hot. Yum.
One last note: I MISS N.E.R.D.
BROOKE CANDY – OPULENCE
How can you NOT like Brooke Candy?! Seriously! She’s like the gangsta Lady Gaga who never quite made it because she didn’t buy into any pop bullsh*t. Well, not yet anyway. There’s something really strange happening in her head and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
DUCK SAUCE - NRG
Infomercials are my jam. No, seriously! I f**king love them. But let’s go deeper! What’s the real meaning behind this video? The deeper, philosophical message of NRG? Brainwashing. Duh! Obviously my favourite part of Duck Sauce’s new video is that old lady and her chicken. Shake it grandmamma!
WYE OAK – GLORY
Those clones are really creeping me out, but besides that this video has some of my ultimate favourite things. Ice cream, cigarettes, girls that never smile and golden balls. Now that’s what I call a party! And how great is this track?! Wye Oak, you’re doing all the right things and I just want to kiss you (and your creepy clones too)!
GAZELLE TWIN – BELLY OF THE BEAST
You know what’s great?! Hearing a song and immediately loving it. Yup, that definitely happened when I pressed play on this baby and I gotta say, the music video isn’t half bad either. OK, so it’s fantastic! Why the f**k else would it be in this list, huh?! Anyway, it’s eerie and you don’t really know what’s going on half the time, but it’s captivating and you can’t bear to look away. And now I have an irrational fear of milk. Thanks, Gazelle Twin!
DVORAK – SYMPHONY NO. 9 ALLEGRO CON FUOCO
OK, so let me explain – if you haven’t heard of B-Classic’s The Classical Comeback series, you’re probably really confused right now. Basically it’s a series of music videos set to some famous classical tracks and whether you like classical music or not, it’s the B-O-M-B! Yes, I’m using that phrase again. Deal with it! This may seem like your average Japanese weird-fest but really, it’s a vision of artistic genius. You better respect, b**ch!
TUNE-YARDS – WATER FOUNTAIN
I’m having so much fun watching this video, that inappropriate dancing just comes naturally. BEST MUSIC VIDEO OF THE WEEK AWARD for sure! tUnE-yArDs, you rule my life right now and I think I’m in love with you. Holla back yo!
R3HAB & DEORRO – FLASHLIGHT
I don’t know what it is about pandas, but no one can get enough of them – especially me! However, this panda looks more like Hello Kitty but I guess that’s OK too. Videos of people destroying their offices are the new 2014 trend and I’ve got to say, it’s pretty damn inspirational! I mean, who needs a job anyway?! Just become a curator on Bitcandy. Problem solved!
HURRICANE LOVE – NOWHERE TO GO
Hurricane Love play songs in tiny rooms and it’s just about the most magical thing I have ever seen. Their new video for "Nowhere To Go" is just as magical as everything else they do, except now people are paying attention. If you’re one of those suckers that still isn’t paying attention, sort that sh*t out! You’ll thank me later.
DAWN GOLDEN – ALL I WANT
This song may just be the best thing I’ve heard all year. No jokes! Dawn Golden’s debut album, Still Life, drops in May and I simply can’t wait. True love, man. It’s an emotional topic. And a spectacular video from an artist who hasn’t even released his debut album yet.

Wow, wasn’t that a trip?! Drop by next week for some more of the coolest sh*t on the music video circuit that I call my life. Or the internet. Either way, I’m selling and you’re buying, so come again soon, b**ches!
About Bianca Fernandes
Bianca Fernandes has an unfounded love for Taylor Swift and an unexplainable, burning hatred for Bob Dylan. In her opinion, that's the perfect combination to be a music reviewer. And she doesn't give an F about what you have to say about it. She writes for one person, and that's herself. Think grumpy cat with a weakness for music and watching Miley Cyrus twerk. But she does other things simply for cash, like social media, web content creation and some crazy blogging when necessary.
