Ahhh today’s PopSmut has so much win. I have the same excitement for this list as I once had for staying in bed a few extra hours and watching music videos on MTV. Yikes! That was decades ago. Anywho, today’s top indie pop songs are dedicated to all you visually stimulated creative hipsters. If it weren’t for the giant tray of the twinkie tower I would have assumed that this was just a peek into a day in the life of Katy Perry and would have been so jelly at the thought of she and John Mayer feeding each other hot cheetos.

BLEACHERS - I WANNA GET BETTER (LYRIC VIDEO)

Looks like Jack Antonoff from the band FUN. has decided to venture off into a solo project. And by the sounds of it, I prefer this version of himself. He may not have the vocals of Nate Ruess, but goddangit I’d rather be caught dancing to his single, ‘I Wanna Get Better,’ than caught singing ‘Carry On.’

We don’t usually feature trap music on here, but we couldn’t pass up this delicious booty and seizure inducing video. This you must absolutely watch if you ever plan going to a Flosstradamus show. Hot bodies, kandi masks, strobing lights.

BIG BOI FEAT. PHANTOGRAM - OBJECTUM SHALAMAR

Now slowing your heartbeat down a bit is a funky smooth groove from two artists I never thought I would see together. Do you love the disco remake as much as I do?

BEYONCE - PARTITION (EXPLICIT)

As much as I love Bey Bey and her sky parting vocals, I am disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a woman who appreciates and recognizes the beauty of another woman, but dancing around half naked like a cheap interpretation of scenes from ‘Striptease’ is SO 2013. It’s not edgy, it’s not shocking, it just makes the desperation all the more noticeable.

BEAR HANDS - AGORA (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

Tiny colorful dragons everywhere, bugged out eyes ridiculously clean floors. Ahh dejavu! Kids this is exactly what you experience when you do meth.

SCHOOLBOY Q - BREAK THE BANK (EXPLICIT)

Listening to ScHoolboy Q’s latest album, Oxymoron, is an intense experience. There are two songs that mainly stick out because of the rapper’s natural ease of rhyming, one of them being t“Break The Bank,” which also I.M.O. is the most hard hitting track off of one of the best rap albums of 2014.

THE FRAY - LOVE DON’T DIE (LIVE @ WALMART SOUNDCHECK)

Walmart, proud suppliers of G.M.O., Great Value frozen pancakes, Faded Glory ribbed shorts and now....The Fray...da fuck?! When did that happen? Well I guess I’ve seen weirder shit strolling the streets of Downtown L.A. I know these sound checks have been around longer than my dog’s rash, but I just don’t understand it. Must be the dollar bills.

DAVID GUETTA - SHOT ME DOWN FT. SKYLAR GREY (LYRICS VIDEO)

I’m not as much a fan of the track as I am a fan of the video. And I totally agree with YouTuber James Jones: this reminds me of a Quentin Tarantino film. Perhaps Tarantino is behind the Guetta and Grey collab because he’s the only genius sick enough to put this together.
