BEST INDIE POP - WEEK 2 2014
When you’ve fully given up on the lameness of lamestream and want to feel that your music choices truly reflect your kinky hipster lifestyle, turn to us for a good time. We’re back after a two week delay (drinking binge hehe) and ready to satisfy your musical appetite with some pretty lethal beats coming from Yonas, Mickey Valen, Twenty One Pilots, and a couple of other artists that you probably don’t know about but should. And if by the end of the you find yourselves less than amused, here’s a tip: become a curator here and slather us with your music. To the music!
BRAYTON BOWMAN - DONE
Sounds like a male hipster version of the poptart Taylor Swift... except I don’t think Taylor eats her feelings out. Rumor has it she sends flying monkeys to stalk her ex lovers. Eating cake seems a bit more sane. Good luck Bowman!
TWENTY ONE PILOTS - TRUCE [OFFICIAL VIDEO]
Listening to ‘Truce’ makes me want to roll around in my new snuggie and weep as I dunk my face into a bag of chips. The video serves as a reminder that if you’re going to a concert this year, TWENTY ONE PILOTS is the one to be at.
AYER - YOUNG (MICKEY VALEN RADIO EDIT)
Okay how about a change of pace to that of a less dramatic tone. New York producer Mickey Valen creates a yummy chow out of Ayer’s dreamy layered single. Definitely a track that will leave your ears drooling.
YONAS - TEAM (LORDE REMIX)
You can always count on Yonas to deliver a flawless remix. I only say that because after listening to ‘Team’ I rushed over to his soundcloud and listened to ALL of his tracks and ALL were pretty solid.
ELLIE GOULDING - BURN (ROBOTS WITH RAYGUNS REMIX)
Listening to anything mixed by Robots With Rayguns is like putting extra sugar on your Frosted Flakes. A couple hits and you’ll be bouncing off walls.
