BEST INDIE POP - WEEK 5
It’s the end of January 2020, can ya believe it! Of course you can because you are living it with me. So what does this mean? For most of us we’ve broken all our resolutions and for a lot more of us our hopes have been shattered. Call it the winter blues, but there’s just too much going on. So I’m making it my job to spread cheer along with good music. Hang on tight because the indie pop songs listed below are specifically selected to make you feel like without a care in the world.
Grab yourself a nice little corner and get ready to listen to the 10 Best Songs in Indie Pop.

CARIBOU - NEVER COME BACK
I start you off with a fresh beat from producer Caribou. “Never Come Back” is the opposite of what the title suggests. It’s summery friendly beat makes you want to come back and give this another spin. It’s simply delicious. So good, you can literally taste summer ...yummm...suntan lotion!
TOVE LO - ARE U GONNA TELL HER? FEAT. MC ZAAC
Oooh, Tove Lo adds some spiciness to our week in “Are U Gonna Tell Her?” The tropical beats and Mc Zaaz pack heat into Tove Lo’s story of forbidden love. Why is it that everything that is bad feels and sounds so right?!
JESSIE REYEZ - LOVE IN THE DARK
“Love In The Dark” exposes a tender side of Jessie Reyez. It’s as if we are seeing Reyez in a vulnerable, but instead of coming off as weak...Reyez shines strong. Her voice brings a resilient spirit to the lyrics making this single a smooth easy listen.
H.E.R. - SOMETIME
Did you watch the Grammys? Did you watch H.E.R. perform? Wasn’t she the bestest? Did it not make you get goosebumps? Doesn’t “Sometimes” just make you feel ok with your current situation? We’ve all had those days, and for when we ever go through those days, let this sweet melody play.
CASH CASH - MEAN IT
I read through some YouTube videos and saw how some said that Cash Cash is like sooo underrated. FALSE. They just need to put out more bangers like “Mean It” because if a song don’t make you move then the song really isn’t all that good now is it?! With that said, Cash Cash is onto something.
EKALI - DROWN FEAT AU/RA
Ekali and Au/Ra are about to make you drown in bliss with the epic single “Drown.” Save this bomb for when you need some rescuing from yourself or the world around you.
CASHMERE CAT - QUIT FEAT. SIA AND ARIANA GRANDE
Some cool random facts about the song Quit: Originally written and sung by Sia. There’s at least 5 versions of this song floating around the internet, but that can;t really be confirmed or denied. The song is featured in Cashmere Cat’s album 9. Sia can be heard in the background. And there ya go, some random fandom facts.
GOO GOO DOLLS - LOST
I wanted to really say somethign stupid and sarcastic, but I ate my words as I found myself singing and clapping along to the Goo Goo Doll’s uplifting message. “"The song reminds me that we all make mistakes and lose the plot of our own stories sometimes,”John Rzeznik.
KESHA - TONIGHT
Save this track for Friday night or for when you’re ready to light the town on fire. Kesha once again is here to remind us why we love her. She is the sweetest hottest mess who we really really want to be BFFs with. That’s my new new year resolution … find her...meet her...be besties for life.
DUKE DUMONT - THERAPY
If all the above songs failed to bring your mood up … I assure you that this is the only sound you need to listen to. That is all folks.
Thanks as always for stopping by and hearing the indie pop songs that were specially picked for you and you and me and you. See you next week.

Beca Arredondo is easily unamused with all things not related to her interests. On her good days you can catch her avoiding the California sun and glued to her Mac plotting the next big thing. If you happen to run into her on the street and notice her wearing headphones do NOT disturb her. She is not responsible for any possible damage. Aside from the above she's very sweet and perky and responds well to good music and food.
