BEST OF EDM (12 + BANGERS) | WEEK 46 2013
Welcome back to another installment of Bicandy's Best of EDM! Don't let the title fool you: we have more styles than just EDM here, but didn't have enough room in the banner to call it Bitcandy's Best of EDM, Techno, Deep House, Nüdisco, Mashups, and Big Room.
It doesn't matter if your style is big and crazy or simple and chill: you will find your genre here. Unless your genre is smooth jazz house. We don't play that.
TEDDY KILLERZ - TEDDY MASSACRE EP MINIMIX
Fresh off the presses is Teddy Killerz new EP, Teddy Massacre, from OWSLA records. Check out this minimix with all nine tracks boiled down to a convenient 6 minutes. It plays a range of electro house, starting with a slow tempo grind before launching into full force for the last tracks. Buy this one on 11/12/13.
THEFATRAT - THERATNEST NOVEMBER 2013
Playing a great selection of EDM and electro house, TheFatRat crams as much as he can into 45 minutes, giving you everything you need in one mixtape. With hits from Slynk, Crazy, Montee, and Throttle, how can you lose?
DONNA SUMMER - "BAD GIRLS" (BOYS NOIZE REMIX)
Check out this great remix of Donna Summer's "Bad Girls" from Boys Noize. It's not the first time we've heard the German have his way with hits from the disco goddess: last year he released the bootleg "Donnastag."
CARNAGE - MARA (ORIGINAL MIX) [FREE DOWNLOAD]
He's called Carnage for a reason: "Mara" is a butcher shop of hot dance trends. Transitioning from the quasi progressive piano line before the drop to big room main line before finishing it all off with the trap beat, this track is the Neapolitan of EDM.
ANA SIA - AD OUT (CDBL RMX) [FORTHCOMING ON HOT N HEAVY RECORDING]
After listening to a few bangers, we're always amazed by what a good producer can do with a simple bass line and a good beat. There are no crazy switches here, no gimmicks, nothing mind blowing: it's just good, straightforward techno bass.
BUNJI GARLIN - ITS A CARNIVAL
It seems like Major Lazer is coming out with something new every other week. This week it's "Its A Carnival," featuring Bunji Garlin with a beat you can samba to.
KASKADE & ZZTTN VS. MOGUAI - SOMETHING SOMETHING CHAMPS (KASKADE'S ATMOSPHERE MASH UP)
Grade A mashup featuring some of EDM's hottest acts and tracks. Combining the high vocal line from Kaskade's "Something Something" with the melody from Mogui's "Champs," we have a mashup that will be stuck in your head for the next few weeks. You're welcome. Make sure to grab the free download while you still can!
ANDY'S ILL - INSOMNIAC
Great combo of electro house and big room from Andy's iLL.
LOLO - YEAR ROUND SUMMER OF LOVE (PAUL WOOLFORD REMIX)
Centered around a dirty analog bass line, this "Year Round Summer of Love" from Paul Woolford is simple and fun, and 7 minutes long! Listen to all of it.
I SEE MONSTAS - EVOLUTION (PEGBOARD NERDS REMIX)
It's hard to nail down this remix from Pegboard Nerds: it's pulling from so many genres that there's no real way to categorize it. At times it feels like it's going to go electro house, other times you think breakbeats. But no, it never really commits fully to any genre.
KLARTRAUM - DIVING DANCER (IAN POOLEY REMIX)
Ian Pooley is one of those artists that you know, you just might not realize it. This super loungey track features a distant sounding filtered piano line, splashy cymbals, and a pad line you could write a book about. If this is the first time you've seen the name Ian Pooley, check out his Soundcloud today and get acquainted.
TOMMY TRASH - FUCKWIND (ORIGINAL MIX)
We're not sure about the back story, but apparently the Trashman hates wind? Who cares how feels about atmospheric pressure, as long as he keeps putting out top grade electro house like this. Make sure to grab the free download on this one!
MARTIN SOLVEIG & THE CATARACS - HEY NOW (FEAT. KYLE) (PIERCE FULTON REMIX)
We were surprised how few remixes we heard of this undeniably fun summer jam from Solveig & The Cataracs. The version from Pierce Fulton will have you wearing shorts 'til January.
