BOYS NOIZE - GIRL CRUSH FT. RICO NASTY

2/18/20

Fresh off collaborating with Skrillex and Ty Dolla $ign, German EDM Producer and DJ Boys Noize (Alexander Ridha) is back with a full-on low-tempo banger in “Girl Crush.”

While some people (read: me) may lament the fact that this new single featuring Rico Nasty is not a cover of the Little Big Town crooner, such trepidations are immediately swept aside based on just how groovy this track is.

The beat is a traditional techno one, with bits and pieces of EDM production scattered throughout. It’s unique and innovative, the kind of thing we’ve come to expect from Boys Noise. Rico Nasty on the other hand delivers a performance that shows off a range that some people (read: me) didn’t know she had.

The New York-based rapper and Croc-enthusiast spends most of the track singing, instead of spitting bars. Fluctuating between a serenade and an incessant chant, Rico steals the show on a song that delivers all the butterflies of a middle school dance, in a sleak, modern package.

Take it for a spin below.

BOYS NOIZE, RICO NASTY - GIRL CRUSH

Paired with “Girl Crush” is a video of a sultry and flirtatious Rico Nasty dancing alone and signing the song. Check it out at your own risk.

Oh, and the Boys Noise also released another new single, “Buchla 100.” We should be expecting new work from both artists sooner than later. Could be a big year for them, individually and collectively.

We should all hope for the same.
