Los Angeles-based electronic artist Jennifer Lee, better known by her stage pseudonym TOKiMONSTA, has spent the better part of the decade establishing herself as the top musical act in a thriving genre, and with her newest single featuring the sweet vocals of Yuna, "Don’t Call Me" is set to continue that trend.

TOKIMONSTA - DON'T CALL ME (FEAT. YUNA)

Anyone familiar with the musical scene in Southern California already knows what TOKiMONSTA is all about. Since her debut album, Midnight Menu, she built her electronic style around dreamy compositions that are as calm-and-collected as coffee shop jazz. After picking up her EP entitled Creature Dreams, I knew she was destined for greatness. There is a place for chill, yet invigorating electronic music in today’s festival-driven landscape. Combined with the silky vocals of Malaysian songstress Yuna, who has no shortage of collaboration work, "Don’t Call Me" merges the genres of R&B and chill lounge electronica together in a satisfying three-and-a-half-minute track capable of shaping daydreams out of even the most mundane situations. It can even calm me in the midst of morning traffic.

Oozing with charisma and charm, Don’t Call Me is a masterwork from two musical giants on the cusp of mainstream recognition. Hopefully, this collaboration is not a one-time deal. Listening to it just makes you yearn for more in the future. Currently, TOKiMONSTA is on the roster of We Are: The Guard owner Benjamin Groff’s publishing company, Brill Building. Be sure to catch her live if she ever comes by your neck of the woods. You won’t regret it.
